'Tasty Nuggets' - Blues in Britain magazine

This four-piece have a sound that is solidly rooted in the traditional blues - try the very fine version of Bukka White’s ‘When Can I Change My Clothes’, sensitive to the original’ but they can also put their own stamp on it, as for example reworking ‘Catfish Blues’ into ‘Spaceman Blues’ and making me laugh out loud whilst appreciating what they’ve done. They also write meaningful and relevant songs - lend an ear to the lyrics of the opening ‘Just Want To Make A Living’ and ‘Never Had Nothin’ When Times Were Good’. l’ve not mentioned the sublime cover of Curtis Mayfield’s all-time classic ‘People Get Ready’, with a wonderful gospel trio helping out. They can play the blues straight too, as demonstrated by the perfect Muddy Waters’ sound on ‘Too Little Too Late’ kudos especially to Mark Cole’s harp playing and guest Mike Myers (no, Doctor Evil, it’s the Canadian guitarist) on this one. Third album? I'm gonna have to catch up. You’re gonna make my bank manager cry, guys - thanks!
