The new year is underway and we start it with a handful of gigs in the Midlands including our first gig at the legendary Marrs Bar in Worcester. Damon T is supporting us at that one and we are really excited about performing for the Worcester blues crowd. Now that we have our Facebook feed on the front page (see below on the main panel) we can keep you more instantly up to date than by posting these news flashes, so this will be the last newsflash from us in this format. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook feeds below! Thanks.

We hope you all enjoy the festive season whether you celebrate or not. We'd like to thank you all for your support during 2014 and look forwards to seeing you all at a gig somewhere soon. It's been a busy year! We've released our long awaited third album to great reviews, enjoyed performing far and wide to appreciative audiences and loved making new friends who I know we'll see again and again thanks to the passion and loyalty people have for our kind of music.

That's almost it for another season. We've had a fun time playing at festivals far and wide - thank you all who came! Tasty Nuggets is still getting some great airplay including the Paul Jones Show on BBC Radio 2 and glowing reviews continue to come in - see our Press page for those. So what's next? We have club appearances coming in the run up to Christmas and it's now time to capitalise on all the exposure we've been getting by continuing to book festivals and club dates for next year and 2016.

The new album, Tasty Nuggets, nears completion and should be ready for release early May. Recording it has been great fun and there are only a few bits and pieces left to do. We have some special guests on the album and many new songs to share with you. The artwork is nearly complete so watch out for the album cover appearing in the run up to the release!
We're off to Mississippi again very soon to play at the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale. We can't wait to get back there and catch up with our old friends and, no doubt, make some new ones. Mark will also be playing a few sets with our blues buddies, the Myers Brothers from Ottawa, Canada, who regularly play at the festival. Video and photos to follow on our return!
Hello Lyndon

We are pleased to welcome our new bass player the brilliant and multi talented Lyndon Webb. Although principally our bass player, Lyndon is also a fantastic guitarist, mandolin player and more which potentailly gives us more scope for sonic variety as we move forward. He's a great vocailist too so will be able to join the rogues chorus on harmony backing vocals. If you saw us play at the Stroud Fringe Festival then you'll have already seen him. We've rescheduled our studio time so that Lyndon will be the bass player on the forthcoming album - out early 2014!
Thank you Ade

We announce with some sadness that Ade is no longer with Sons of the Delta. Here is a statement from Ade himself...
"Hi All, It is with a very heavy heart that I have to announce that I am no longer the bass player with Sons of the Delta. I really wish the band every success, and I hope to catch up with you all soon. Ade"
We would like to thank Ade for his talent, hard work and dedication and we wish him good luck and success with his future musical ventures.

Recording is coming along nicely for album 3. We've almost finished the duo based tracks and soon we'll be back in the studio to record the band based tracks. You can hear how it's coming together as we've added two 'almost there' tracks to our new Audio player below, 'Spaceman Blues' and 'When Can I Change My Clothes'. We will work on the final mix when the band tracks have been recorded so that the tracks all work together well. We hope you like how it's coming along!
Goodbye January

Well, that's January out of the way. Traditionally a quiet month after all the excesses of December. One gig cancelled because of the snow but off to a great start with both duo and band gigs, all well attended. So we take our hats off to the supporters of live music out there who ensured that our gigs were well attended and who kept the venues in business by drinking lots of their lovely beer - responsibly of course!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to all our fans around the world! Considering the global recession we've had another great year and we're looking forwards to a busy and fun 2013. The new album won't be out in time for Christmas as we're busy finishing other projects but in the New Year we will be back in the studio. As we've mentioned before, the album will contain mostly original songs with a few covers that have become favourites with gig-going fans over the last few years. We're looking forwards to working many of the new songs in to the set for next year and taking the band all over the blues lovin' world! Thank you all for your continued support and we look forwards to seeing you all soon!

"Dear All, having a great summer here in Bluesland. We had a fantastic time at the Upton Blues Festival and the Gloucester Blues Festival where our slots went really well and we're now looking forward to the Monmouth Festival later this month, Newark Blues Festival early September and our Spanish tour later in September. In amongst all that we need to make time to get some recording done as we promised you a new CD this year. Wish you were here - Mark, Rick, Ade and Marty x"

Despite a slow start to the year on the gig front, we are far from idle. Mark has been writing new material for the forthcoming album and demos of the new songs are being put together ready for the band to work on prior to the album recording. We're also busy getting plenty of dates in the diary for the year ahead.

We've been listening to some live recordings sent to us by fans and decided to share some of them with you. They weren't professionally recorded, just captured on small hand-held devices straight to stereo, warts and all, but we think they are fun and give a flavour of the duo and band live. The sound quality is not 'hi-fi' but we think you'll like the performances for their energy and passion. Use the widget below to listen and download. Enjoy!

A belated Happy New Year to everyone out there. Hopefully you have all recovered by now and are in full swing with your plans for 2011. Our plans include a new album, more gigs in Spain, a full band mini tour in Mississippi in April and festivals near and far. At the moment we are busy writing songs for the new album and it's looking like it will be a mix of full band tracks and acoustic duo numbers, maintaining that balance of the previous two albums which all of you seem to love.
3rd Playa Viva Blues Festival

We had a fantastic time headlining the 3rd Playa Viva Blues Festival in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria at the end of October. The weather was good, apart from a brief shower towards the end of our set, the crowd was large and enthusiastic and the other bands were fantastic and varied in blues styles. It was extremely well organised and we had a great on-stage sound. We recorded our set and we may put some of it on here or maybe our Reverbnation page. We will let you know when we do. Click here for some great photos and, to read more about the trip and festival, click here to read Mark's blog.

See the calendar for details of the two gigs.

Welcome to the new-look website! We're sad to lose the old tweed amp website, but with new browsers coming on the scene and changes in compatibility, the old website was misbehaving itself for some people and so it was time for a change. It's cleaner, more easy to navigate and bigger. Enjoy!

This, of course, will include a lot of posts about Sons of the Delta and that's why we are letting you know about it. We've added a link to it on the Links page. He's off to perform and record in Canada for a while so follow his exploits on the blog.
